Choose from a range of high-quality underlay, floor fitting kits, adhesives for cork tiles, edgings and finishes to make the installation straightforward and the finish look great. Then choose from our specialist laminate and wood cleaners, floor seals and floor gloss polishes to make sure that great look lasts.

Underlay:

Engineered wood and laminate floors need to be fitted with an underlay. Solid wood flooring can be glued directly to the subfloor or laid as a ‘floating floor’ by using an underlay.

Floormaker stocks a variety of underlay in different materials and thicknesses which are ideal for a range of wood and laminate floor types.

Foam or fibreboard underlay is most suitable for laminate flooring and are suitable for firm, dry areas. Some foam underlay has a damp-proof membrane built-in to them and are a bit thicker, so provide more insulation to really help even out any small irregularities in the subfloor.

For excellent sound reduction, we recommend the green foam insulation board underlay. This reduces sound by up to 19 decibels and is ideal for floating floors as it can also level out any irregularities in a subfloor.

Threshold Strips:

Floormaker has an extensive range of threshold strips. Choose from a range of styles and wood effects to match your existing flooring and create an excellent finish.

Edging / Scotia:

Edging (or scotia, as it is often known) bridges the gap between your existing skirting boards and new floor. This means any unsightly expansion gaps are covered and you have a neat and professional finish.

Floormaker’s edging strips can all be cut to size and are simple to fit. Choose from 11 different types including bamboo, chestnut, maple and oak.

Adhesives:

We also supply a range of specialist adhesives, suitable for using on your vinyl tiles, wood planks, laminate flooring and cork tiles.

Floor cleaners:

Specialist floor cleaners are essential for the aftercare of your floor and help to maintain its ‘brand-new’ look. Proper maintenance and care will ensure your floor lasts as long as possible and always looks its best.

It’s a shame to spend time and money on a new floor only for it to age before its time. This can happen because of neglect, as well as by using the wrong cleaning products which can really damage a floor. Make sure you buy our specialist floor cleaners along with your flooring, to keep it looking newer for longer.

Feltpads:

Feltpads attach to items of furniture such as table legs and chairs to help prevent scratching and prolong the life of your floor. Each pad is self-adhesive and easy to apply.

Cork expansion strips:

Cork expansion strips must be used to fill expansion gaps around all types of flooring including laminate, engineered and solid wood. They must be used around the perimeter of the room where the boards or tiles are laid to control the natural movement of the flooring.

Pipe surrounds:

Use our pipe surrounds to cover the gaps and give a neat finish where the floor has been cut around pipes.

Floor fitting kit:

Everything you need to lay a professional-looking floor is included in our floor fitting kit. Each tool will make the floor fitting process as easy as possible and we even have different kits for different types of flooring.

Our laminate floor fitting kit contains a floor spacer, a knocking block and a pull bar. The wood floor fitting kit also contains a floor spacer, but comes with a specific heavy-duty knocking block and heavy-duty pull bar.
