We have a huge range of flooring to choose from here at Floormaker, and one of our best-sellers is our range of wooden flooring.

Now, wood flooring has been popular for centuries, and it's still incredibly popular and sought-after today. Still, with so many other options now on the market, you may wonder: Why choose wooden flooring?

In this blog post, we will discuss why wooden flooring makes for such a great choice in any home, and what types of wooden flooring we have on offer.

Why Wooden Flooring?

Why Wooden Flooring?

Wooden flooring is not only beautiful, it is also highly durable and easy to clean. Whereas other flooring materials eventually have to be replaced, a wooden floor can last decades. Any damage that is inflicted on solid wood flooring can usually be remedied by sanding and resealing, which is much more cost-effective than having to refit an entire carpet.

Wooden flooring is diverse in design, too - whatever your taste, there's sure to be a wood floor to suit it. Light, medium and dark woods are now all available in a range of colours, so whether you want something traditional or more modern, wooden flooring can still suit your style. Plus, it almost always adds to the value of the property it's installed in!

What Types of Wooden Flooring Are There?

We sell two different types of wooden flooring here at Floormaker:

Solid Wood Flooring

Solid wood flooring is made from 100% real wood. Its authenticity means it has a naturally beautiful appearance that will last for decades. Solid wood (also known as hardwood) is easy to clean and is a fantastic natural insulator.

Engineered Wood Flooring

Engineered wood flooring is created by gluing 1-5 layers of plywood together and topping them with a real wood wear layer. This gives the flooring the look and feel of solid wood, as well as making it as easy to install as laminate flooring. This hard-wearing flooring choice is also less susceptible to moisture and temperature changes.
