When installing a wood or laminate floor in your home, you will need to leave a 12mm gap around the edge to accommodate the floor's natural expansion over time. If you wish to hide the expansion gap, you can use edging (also known as scotia) to cover it up; indeed, this practice is recommended to avoid the build-up of dirt, dust, and debris in the gap.
If your new floor has a grey oak design, this Grey Oak Edging will match the floorboards perfectly, creating a seamless transition from the floor to the edges of your room. To install, cut the scotia to length and nail each piece to the skirting board (avoid nailing your scotia to the floorboards themselves).
